We are inspired by urban farming! You don't need acres of land to grow food and it just makes sense to us that food shouldn't have to travel so far from farm to table.
We produce some of our own mushroom blocks, specifically oyster mushrooms. We hope to increase our personally made varieties as time goes on. Until then, we look to some fellow mushroom growers who are better able to produce the different varieties that our customers want. Some of these growers are located right here in NJ, and others are in Eastern PA. Varieties we carry may change with the seasons, but you can expect these to be available most of the time: Oyster Mushroom Pleurotus spp. Shiitake Mushroom Lentinula edodes Lion's Mane Mushroom Hericium erinaceus Chestnut Mushroom (aka Cinnamon Caps) Pholiota adipoosa Pioppino Mushroom (aka Black Poplar) Agrocybe aegerita Maitake Mushroom (aka Hen of the Woods) Grifola frondosa King Oyster Pleurotus eryngii We follow organic practices in our growing. There are no pesticides, fungicides or other -cides sprayed on our mushrooms. Many of the mushrooms we grow are wood decaying fungi. They are not plants, and they don't require fertilizers. Our mushroom grow room has windows, so you can see exactly what goes on in the room, and we're more than happy to talk about it. Stop by our shop and watch the mushrooms grow!
